1. Welcome to Skilled Craftsmen
Skilled Craftsmen ("Platform," "we," "us," or "our") connects skilled Seventh-day Adventist professionals, volunteers, and mission-driven organizations ("Users") for service, collaboration, and mission advancement. By accessing or using Skilled Craftsmen, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms").
2. Who May Use This Platform
You may use Skilled Craftsmen if:
- You are at least 18 years old, or have parental consent if 16–17
- You agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy
- You provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Your purpose aligns with our mission-driven community values
3. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining your account security
- You may not share your login credentials or allow others to use your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
4. Platform Usage & Acceptable Conduct
You May:
- Create a professional profile highlighting your skills and mission interests
- Browse opportunities and connect with other mission-minded individuals and organizations
- Communicate through our secure messaging system
- Form teams and collaborate on mission projects
- Post opportunities if you represent a verified organization
You May Not:
- Post false, misleading, or inappropriate content
- Harass, discriminate against, or harm other users
- Use the platform for commercial purposes unrelated to mission service
- Attempt to circumvent our messaging or payment systems (see Section 5)
- Share others' personal information without consent
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
5. Communication & Anti-Circumvention Policy
To maintain a safe, accountable, and sustainable community:
5.1 Messaging System
- All initial communications between users must occur through our platform messaging system
- Free tier users have limited messaging capabilities as described in our pricing plans
- Attempts to share contact information (email, phone, social media, etc.) to bypass platform messaging may result in restrictions
5.2 Why We Keep Conversations On-Platform
- Safety: Protects all users through verified identities and message tracking
- Accountability: Ensures mission-aligned interactions and dispute resolution
- Sustainability: Supports platform maintenance and development
- Community Integrity: Preserves our mission-focused environment
5.3 Consequences of Circumvention
- First violation: Warning and temporary messaging restriction
- Second violation: 30-day account suspension
- Third violation: Permanent account termination
- Organizations may report violations; we investigate all reports promptly
6. Service Plans & Payments
6.1 Free Tier
Includes: Profile visibility, opportunity browsing, and limited messaging as specified in current plans.
6.2 Supporter/Paid Plans
- Payment terms are specified at checkout
- Plans auto-renew unless canceled before the billing cycle
- You may cancel anytime; no refunds for partial periods
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice
6.3 Refunds
- Refunds considered on a case-by-case basis
- No refunds for violations of these Terms
7. Intellectual Property
- You retain ownership of content you post
- You grant us license to display and distribute your profile information
- The Skilled Craftsmen name, logo, and platform design are our property
- You may not use our branding without written permission
8. Disclaimers & Limitations
8.1 No Guarantees
We do not guarantee:
- That you will find specific opportunities or matches
- The accuracy of user-provided information
- The outcome of any mission project or collaboration
- Uninterrupted platform access
8.2 User Responsibility
- You are responsible for verifying opportunities and collaborators
- We are not party to agreements between users
- You assume all risks associated with mission service
8.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skilled Craftsmen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or harmful activity
- Misrepresent your identity or qualifications
- Harm our community or mission
10. Dispute Resolution
- Informal resolution: Contact us first at support@skilledcraftsmen.org
- Formal disputes: Governed by applicable laws
- Arbitration: Agree to binding arbitration for eligible disputes
- Class action waiver: To the extent permitted by law
11. Mission Alignment
Skilled Craftsmen is a faith-based platform serving the Seventh-day Adventist community. While we welcome all who respect our mission, we reserve the right to refuse service to those whose activities conflict with our values and purpose.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. We'll notify you of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
